Goodbye, September.

Goodbye September 2011, I am not really sad to see you go. You made me get back into school full swing, what's up with that? I hate getting up at 5:30, I must tell you. I'm not liking all the homework either. Actually, I should be doing it now.

But, there were also some good things in this month. Like dance back in full swing! 4 days a week at my dance academy is great, then now the dance team at my high school got started! I'm really proud of me and my friend for creating it, I thought it wouldn't happen. So I'm there sometimes once or twice a week dancing. We have auditions on Monday the 3rd, Wednesday the 5th, and Saturday the 8th. I'm looking forward to it even though I'm going to be more sore and bruised than I already am!

I only read 4 books this month, it's a shame. School is taking away all my reading time! Although I only read a few, they were still amazing.

1. Blood Red Road by Moria Young.
2.Shadow Kiss- Vampire Academy # 3 by Richelle Mead.
3. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs.
4. Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta.

The two books from my September list that I HIGHLY recommend to all of you are..

These two books are now on my favorites list and you all need to read them. Blood Red Road is one of my all-time favorites, not even just of this month. Go read both of these, just do it.

Along with dance and school, School Newspaper also started back. I'm the editor again. I don't know how I'm going to find time to do it.. ugh.

I actually wrote this month! It was only a little bit, but still, I finally wrote! Finally a breakthrough! I'm pretty proud of what I have so far of my new book, even though it's only like five pages and I haven't even decided on a title yet...

I'm looking forward to October. We will be learning our Hip Hop dance at my dance academy from a Choreographer who lives in NYC on Oct. 2nd, then the 3rd, 5th, and 8th, are High School Dance Team auditions, so we'll have the team together soon! We will be starting to learn our Lyrical dance on the 22nd at my dance academy. Another dance filled month.

Then there's a Fall Play that is going to go on at our school. I really want to try out for it, and I think I actually have a shot since it's just acting, and I'm actually decent at that. I just hope I make it, and if I do make it, if I have time for it!

October will be a great book filled month as well! I hope to read these books in Oct in no particular order-

-Blood Promise- Vampire Academy # 4 by Richelle Mead. (Currently Reading)
- Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson.
- Spirit Bound- Vampire Academy # 5 by Richelle Mead.
-The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
- Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor.

Aren't those covers beautiful? I'm so excited to read them!

I also gained a lot of followers this month, thanks so much guys! I never, ever thought I'd have 95! That's crazy!

October is also..
THE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE 828!
October 10th to be exact!
I'd like to do a giveaway or something, but since I can't send anything out in the mail, it would be hard.

Well, I hope you guys had a great month!

I also want to try out for the fall play at our school so if I make that, I'll be on here even less. And plus all the stupid homework ruling my life. My grades are worrying me...
BUT. I did do a guest post on Taylor Lynn's blog, Perfectly Sensible Nonsense!

A Reader's Ramble- Jellicoe Road

Wow, I haven't done one of these in a while. But for this Reader's Ramble I will be reviewing Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta.

Page count- 419

In this lyrical, absorbing, award-winning novel, nothing is as it seems, and every clue leads to more questions.
At age eleven, Taylor Markham was abandoned by her mother. At fourteen, she ran away from boarding school, only to be tracked down and brought back by a mysterious stranger. Now seventeen, Taylor's the reluctant leader of her school's underground community, whose annual territory war with the Townies and visiting Cadets has just begun. This year, though, the Cadets are led by Jonah Griggs, and Taylor can't avoid his intense gaze for long. To make matters worse, Hannah, the one adult Taylor trusts, has disappeared. But if Taylor can piece together the clues Hannah left behind, the truth she uncovers might not just settle her past, but also change her future.

Plot- Wow, oh my goodness, where do I begin? This story just blew me away. The whole mystery of it, was just wow. I loved the writing style. It was so lyrical and it flowed really well. As I read the last page of this  few minutes ago, I just sat there stunned. Like, how could it end? How did I not read this story before? How is Melina Marchetta such a genius? How did she ever come up with this story? Gah! It all was just so interesting and hooking.
The romance! Even with all the mystery and action, there was even an adorable romance!
The plot is actually where my only complaints are. And they are minor. The beginning was really, really confusing. I was confused up until about page 200. But I guess in a way in has to be confusing, I don't know.
But this book has a great ending and it will leave you in shock after you finish reading it. You will want to live on the Jellicoe Road. Marchetta's writing is just so mesmerizing. I loved it! I mean, the beginning hooks you in right away, check out the first couple lines-

"My father took one hundred and thirty two minutes to die. I counted. It happened on the Jellicoe Road. The prettiest road I'd ever seen, where the trees made breezy canopies like a tunnel to Shangri-la.  We were going to the ocean, hundreds of miles way, because I wanted to see the ocean and my father said that it was about time the four of us made that journey. I remember asking, "What's the difference between a trip and a journey?" and my father said, "Narnie my love, when we get there, you'll understand," and that was the last thing he ever said."
Epic, right?

Setting- In Australia in some town I don't know on the Jellicoe Road. The setting just has such significance in the story, it was brilliant. I can't go too in depth about it but it's just great. You'll love it.

Characters-All of them were so wonderful. And in a way, they were all connected. They all were so real. I wanted to know them all and have them in my life. They all had their own problems and unique pasts. I loved all of the characters, they were pretty much the best part. Every single on of the characters was important in some way, and there were a lot of them.
Taylor, the main character was just so amazing. Her past was a rough one but she turned out all right, and if it wasn't for her past this story would not have taken place. She is very strong and brave. She was just a great MC and I wish she and all the other characters existed.

Jonah Griggs... my goodness.. he is just a fabulous character too, with such a past. Taylor and him are connected in more ways than just romantically. They changed each other's lives even if they didn't realize it.
Loved all of them. Narnie, Tate, Webb, Jude, and Fitz, too. Wow, just wow.

Cover- I didn't understand why there was a flower on the cover when I first got this book. And I thought, "Wow, a flower, woop dee doo." But now that I've read this I realize why they chose this certain flower and I love it. I don't like the color orange however and I don't like the font of the title, but I love the flower. I don't know if I would randomly pick this up off a shelf, but I'm so glad I read it.

Overall- Overall, this is one heck of a book. So tragic, heart-breaking, interesting, bewildering, mysterious, lyrical, romantic, and wonderful. I think I'll be reading it again some time in the future. This is one of those books where you figure out the mystery on your own before they actually tell you, and that's exactly what I did. I was so happy because I was actually right about everything I guessed! I felt smart, haha.
I highly recommend this read. This took me a long time to finish because of how confusing it was at first, and that made me reluctant to read it. But now I'm so happy I did. It all began to piece together eventually. I'm still confused on some things though..

I give Jellicoe Road 5/5 stars, it is one of my favorites and you all need to read it!
